Final reflection of project web

The topic I chose for project web was the problems of technology and social media. What I wrote in my essay was about identity theft. This issue was of interest to me because of how serious it has become. There are more and more cases happening because of how technology has involved over the years. Technology has made it much easier for people to still identities. I did not realize there were so many forms of identity theft. People have to be very careful on who they give their information to. It is very unfortunate how people are so reliable and trust worthy to give their information to any one they feel like it. I do like the change from last semester to this semester. The exercises that we had to do before the papers didn’t really help when it actually came to writing the final draft. For this essay we just got right into the writing process. But when it came to finding research I still have a little trouble because I need to learn how to read the information and then summarize. Last semester I never did any outline for my papers but I tried it this time and it helped me tremendously. I did get a lot of help from Jackie; she guided me in the right direction to write this paper. I rewrote my paper so many times till I thought it was perfect enough. That was the most difficult part because I kept thinking to myself what else do I need to add, am I missing anything.

The work I have done so far is research for the topic I want to write about and that is Identity Theft. I have posted posts to my personal blog and my group blog. I do have variety resources they are my book, the web, and hopefully I could find some articles and stories from magazines.

 

I would be so happy to have completed my project because I will know I have completed every task the teacher has asked of me. I plan to follow all the guide lines to this project and no to procrastinate on the assignments.

 

The article I found most interesting was "Can you hear me now" because it explained a lot about how the technology is so involved in our lives. We cannot go a day without the internet, phones, iPad’s etc. we depend of it so much; we would not know how to survive without it. What really concerns me is how the new generation that is growing up with it that it will affect them later in life. From the minute we wake up till the time we lay our heads down we are always on the computer chatting with someone or on or cellphones talking or texting someone. We are stuck behind a device so often that we are forgetting how to hold a simple conversation in person. The article explains that when people surf the web or on certain websites they become too involved in the virtual world. Some people even pretend to be someone else because they are too embarrassed to be themselves. That’s what is very scary because there are a lot of creepers on the internet stocking young women. We should really take a step back and think to ourselves is technology the answer to every problem?
